Kristine has wide-ranging experience in trusts, estate planning and corporate matters.
Kristine regularly assists clients with inter-generational wealth management through the use of trusts, corporate tax planning and estate planning.
Her wide-ranging experience includes the creation, settlement and governance of trusts and trust interpretation. She regularly prepares family trusts, alter ego trusts, joint partner trusts and testamentary documents containing spousal trusts, disability trusts, minor trusts, guardianship trusts and life interests. She advises on practical application and functionality of both testamentary and inter vivos trusts and related legalities.
She assists clients with all aspects of estate planning including advising on ownership structure and named beneficiary designations, asset transfers between related parties, identifying potential contentious estate planning issues and recommending strategies to achieve estate planning goals and objectives. She advises on the drafting and implementation of wills (including dual will strategies), powers of attorney, health care representation agreements, statutory declarations and other ancillary estate planning documents.
Kristine works closely with clients and accountants on corporate reorganizations and family enterprise succession planning, with a focus on tax-driven reorganizations, post-mortem pipeline strategies, estate freezes, capital gain crystallizations and asset purifications.
