Today, MLT Aikins is delighted to welcome three additions to our growing real estate team in Vancouver: Jennifer Williams (counsel), Joanne Kwan (paralegal) and Margaret Kwan (paralegal).
Boasting more than two decades of experience, Jennifer focuses on commercial real estate and development, in particular commercial real estate transactions, real estate development, Indigenous real estate and development, commercial leasing, financing, construction and related corporate commercial work. She has also worked with a wide range of Indigenous communities and their business partners on transactions, developments and partnerships through various real estate-related projects that support and advance Indigenous economic development. Jennifer is a member of the Canadian Bar Association (CBA) Residential Conveyance Working Group and is the CBA representative on the Land Title and Survey Authority Stakeholder Committee.
As a paralegal, Margaret has worked more than 18 years in real estate law. Her experience lies in collaborating with lawyers on commercial acquisitions and dispositions, development, banking and commercial leasing and lending. Like Jennifer, Margaret is experienced working with Indigenous groups, Indigenous development corporations and their business partners with lease registration transactions.
Joanne is an experienced real estate paralegal. She has worked with lawyers in commercial and residential real estate transactions. Joanne is also knowledgeable in a variety of business law practice areas.
MLT Aikins partner Sarvi Veylan, who heads the firm’s real estate practice group in Vancouver, is “thrilled to welcome these three esteemed legal professionals to our ranks. They bring a wealth of skill and experience to our growing team and will help us serve one of the busiest real estate markets in Canada.”
