Patricia R. Castro is an articling student in the firm’s Winnipeg office.

Patricia is a Juris Doctor graduate of the University of North Dakota. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Winnipeg.

Upon graduating from the University of North Dakota School of Law, she worked with Legal Services of North Dakota helping human trafficking survivors and then transitioned to private practice. While in private practice, she worked in immigration, criminal, family and general litigation. She managed a full-time law practice that involved representing clients through every stage of the proceedings, which included pre-trial hearings, discovery, negotiation, mediation, administrative hearings and both jury and bench trials. Patricia also represented clients in sensitive practice areas such as involuntary commitment proceedings and juvenile Court, often representing families and individuals against the State.

Throughout her career in private practice, Patricia managed an immigration practice that helped families and individuals navigate the process. She has assisted domestic violence survivors obtain permanent residency, individuals seeking asylum and family sponsorship petitions. She has represented small businesses employ foreign workers and helped community-based organizations, such as Global Friends Coalition, help new immigrants with their immigration needs.

Patricia received her Certificate of Qualification from the Federal of Law Societies of Canada in 2023.
