On September 6, 2024, we are pleased to announce that Kevin Mehi and Brady Chapman are returning to MLT Aikins as members of the firm’s Energy practice group.
Brady will be based in the Calgary office and Kevin will be based in the Winnipeg office.

Kevin Mehi has experience advising clients on a variety of matters relating to energy and mining, including acquisitions and divestitures, project structuring, surface and mineral leasing, procurement and construction, offtake and supply agreements, transportation and handling, royalty agreements, and financing arrangements. Kevin has acted for various energy and mining stakeholders, including multinational mining companies, international project developers, engineering firms, construction companies, institutional lenders and landowners.
Brady Chapman has an interest in, and experience advising on, traditional and emerging energy and natural resource opportunities across Canada, including direct lithium extraction and critical and strategic mineral opportunities, renewable energy projects, innovative alternative energy technologies, and carbon emission compliance and trading regimes. Prior to attending law school, he worked in a science communications role for Natural Resources Canada where he developed an in-depth understanding of Canada’s broad energy and natural resource sectors. Brady has also published peer-reviewed articles and presented on Western Canada’s emerging direct lithium extraction industry.
