MLT Aikins lawyers Jeff Lee, K.C. and J.J. Burnell will present at the 2024 Insolvency Institute of Canada (IIC) Conference. The conference takes place in Scottsdale, Arizona from September 26-29, 2024.
Jeff Lee will speak on a panel discussion entitled “Who Is Really Driving The Bus? Creditor-Initiated CCAA Proceedings,” moderated by Justice Shelley Fitzpatrick of the Supreme Court of British Columbia. Jeff will present alongside two other IIC member practitioners.
J.J. Burnell will co-present “Legislative Reforms: Past, Present and Future, Did We Get it Right?” with Chief Justice Geoffrey Morawetz of the Supreme Court of Justice of Ontario moderating the session.
The 2024 IIC conference includes sessions that cover a broad range of insolvency topics extending to: limits on director and officer protections in Canadian insolvency law, the Winding-Up and Restructuring Act, risk management for secured lenders in insolvency cases, enforceability of intercreditor agreements in Canadian insolvency, and current issues in international insolvency.
