Winnipeg lawyer Jessica Jensen has been elected secretary of the Manitoba Bar Association (MBA) Immigration Law Section Executive.
The MBA’s Immigration Law Section brings together lawyers who practise in immigration, citizenship and refugee law, offering members the opportunity to share information and experience and stay up to date on current issues affecting immigration law.
“I’m humbled to be elected secretary of the MBA’s Immigration Law Section,” Jessica said. “I look forward to continuing to support immigration law professionals across Manitoba during my term.”
The lawyers in the MBA’s Immigration Law Section work to develop constructive legislative and policy reforms through meetings with the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program for Skilled Workers and Business; Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada; the Canada Border Services Agency; Service Canada; the Immigration and Refugee Board; and United States Customs and Border Protection.
Jessica practises Canadian and U.S. immigration law and maintains a Foreign Legal Consultant permit from the Law Society of Manitoba, allowing her to practise U.S. law in Manitoba. She is a sought-after speaker who will be discussing legal issues affecting the Canada/U.S. border at a conference in October.
Jessica is a member in good standing of the Manitoba, Minnesota and North Dakota Bars, as well as the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit. Learn more about her practice.
