MLT Aikins is pleased to announce that Jonathan (Jon) Bourchier has joined the firm’s Executive Board. He is a partner with the firm’s Calgary office.
Jon replaces Calgary partner Jean Torrens, who has been selected to join the firm’s Partner Compensation Committee, which has recently expanded due to MLT Aikins successful growth in Calgary.
“Congratulations to Jon on joining the Executive Board. He brings with him a strong understanding of Western Canada’s legal landscape,” said Aaron Runge, managing partner of MLT Aikins. “I would also like to thank Jean for her tremendous work growing the Calgary office and her excellent service on the Executive Board for the past many years.”
Jon’s practice focuses primarily on complex commercial disputes. He represents companies throughout Western Canada at all levels of the dispute process. Jon has significant experience in a broad range of areas, including oil and gas litigation, construction litigation, foreclosures and collections, employment issues, shareholder oppression actions and insurance coverage claims.
Jean strategically partners with business leaders to manage complex legal situations involving employees and unions. She has extensive experience acting for management in conducting collective bargaining, advising on discipline and terminations, navigating challenging human rights and harassment situations, and defending employers facing litigation.
“I’m excited to join the MLT Aikins Executive Board and, as our region continues to thrive, to continue serving clients across Western Canada,” said Jon.
