MLT Aikins is pleased to welcome Michael Weinstein to the firm’s Winnipeg office.
Michael joins the firm’s advocacy group and brings a wealth of experience as a civil litigator focusing on construction law and commercial disputes.
Michael serves as a strategic adviser to stakeholders in the construction industry on matters including contract preparation and review, contractual disputes, builders’ lien issues, bonding, sureties, insurance and statutory trusts.
He also handles a broad range of advocacy matters including insurance litigation, commercial and shareholder disputes, defamation claims and tax litigation.
Michael has appeared before all levels of Court in Manitoba, the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, the Supreme Court of Canada, the Tax Court of Canada and various hearing and arbitration panels for self-regulating organizations. He has also appeared as counsel in various arbitrations and mediations, particularly relating to construction disputes.
Michael has a particular interest in alternative dispute resolution and negotiation, and has extensive experience practising and teaching in this area.
With a long history of volunteerism and charitable activity, Michael remains an active leader in the local community.
