Tom Collopy and Jennifer Williams recognized as Mondaq Thought Leaders

On June 5, 2024, Mondaq released the spring edition of its 2024 Mondaq Thought Leadership Awards and six MLT Aikins lawyers are recognized.

Tom Collopy is recognized for Energy and Natural Resources (Canada) and Jennifer Williams was recognized for Real Estate and Construction (Canada). Also recognized from MLT Aikins are four Energy and Natural Resources co-authors: Randy Brunet, K.C., Andrew D. Konopelny, Scott Masson and Ken Tennenhouse.

Mondaq is a website that aggregates content published by law firms and other professional services firms. The Awards aim to showcase the most popular articles and blogs in terms of total readership over the last six months across a number of countries and topic areas.

Thomas Collopy – A partner in our Calgary office, Tom is a corporate/commercial lawyer with extensive experience in energy and natural resources. He has significant transactional experience in the energy sector, advising upstream and midstream oil and gas and oilfield services companies, in addition to corporate, receiver-manager/trustee and secured lending clients, on a variety of domestic and international energy matters.

Tom has played a role in numerous energy transactions and matters ranging from renewables to oil and gas and mined commodities, including projects involving carbon capture and storage and biofuels.

Jennifer Williams – Based in Vancouver, Jennifer has practised commercial real estate and development law for more than 20 years, at both national and regional firms as well as in-house with a prominent real estate developer. She advises clients on complex commercial real estate transactions including commercial leasing, acquisitions and sales, development, construction agreements, financing, and the real estate aspects of distressed and insolvent properties including those in CCAA.

Her development practice spans a broad range of residential, mixed use and commercial/industrial projects including master-planned developments, multi-family and purpose built rentals and developments on First Nations Lands. Jennifer writes frequently about British Columbia’s everchanging real estate sector and related legislation.
