Helga practises in the areas of litigation and administrative law, and advises on matters related to regulatory issues, professional liability, health care and utilities.

Helga has a broad civil litigation and administrative law practice. She has extensive experience with regulatory issues and professional liability claims. Her wide-ranging practice also includes health law and human rights, energy and public utility regulation, bidding and tendering issues, and personal injury. She is a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers.

Helga co-led the project resulting in the University of Manitoba’s report: “Responding to Sexual Violence, Harassment & Discrimination at the University of Manitoba: A Path Forward.”

She is currently Chair of the World Trade Centre Winnipeg and Vice Chair of Legal Aid Manitoba Management Council, as well as being active in other community boards. She was the former president of the Law Society and is a past recipient of the MBA – Pro Bono Public Interest award.
